FRANCE – \Auditoire and the SNCF celebrate TGV’s 30th Birthday!
Saturday, September 24th 2011 – People were invited to celebrate the TGV birthday during a very special day full of events that took place in Paris Gare de Lyon station from 10.00 am to 2.00 am.
Here is the program of that day of celebration:
AN EXTRAORDINARY STOP FOR THE TGV EXPERIENCE TOUR
From 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM, the day of celebration began with the TGV Experience opening to the general public in Paris Gare de Lyon station, all day long. Since April, this special train has travelled across France. It is composed of 4 thematic, original carriages that invite you to a sensory journey and make you discover the world of TGV in a very different way. Families were also offered entertaining animations on the platform and visits of the driver’s work station. You could play in the great contest to try and win a year of TGV trips for 2 people, in 1st class! The SNCF La Radio radio station settled down in Paris Gare de Lyon station airing an original music program and live performances with French artists such as Colonel Reyel, Merwan Rim and Gilles Luka. In the pop-up store you could buy many collector items : model TGV trains, t-shirts, caps, mugs…
DISCOVER OR RE-DISCOVER THE TGV FLEET, DURING A NIGHT PARTY DEVOTED TO TGV’S 30th BIRTHDAY
At 7.30 PM, you discovered the TGV fleet in an extraordinary presentation. The new TGV design was revealed in a sneak preview, along the trains of special lines such as Thalys, Eurostar, TGV La Poste, the world speed record train… A unique opportunity to visit these trains and their driving stations. In a very lively atmosphere, many free entertaining animations were available within the station: a tatoo studio, a makeup studio, a “I love TGV” photoshoot studio, magicians strolling in the station, the drawing of the “Nuit des 30 ans” party contest, small live performances of Judith, What AboutPenguins, Mikko…
A VIDEO SHOW ON THE FRONT OF THE STATION
From 9.30 PM and every 10 minutes, the public could watch a 3D projection show: a unique videomapping on the front of the station, a modern and dynamic show celebrating the epic tale of TGV. An extraordinary journey, on the edge of dreaming and imagination, creating amazing feelings and new urges for travel…
