European Best Event Awards 2011 Call for Entries
Once again the time has come to officially open registrations for the European BEA, the contest conceived by Salvatore Sagone – President of the ADC Group – in 2006 and now in its sixth edition. European BEA is the only award at a European level dedicated to the best events of the year. The objective of the Awards is to validate events as innovative forms of communication, integral to the media mix and an important part of a company’s wider marketing strategy.Participation in the EuBEA is open to: Events Agencies, Public Relations, Advertising, Promotion, Companies, Web Agencies, Media Centres, Advertising Agencies, Publishers, Production Houses, Public Bodies and Associations, etc., who have carried out a public or private event anywhere in the world, between July 1st 2010 and June 30th 2011. The deadline for entering projects in the European Best Event Awards is set for late July.
This year there will be some big changes: the entry fee for each event will include, free of charge, the publication on the European Events Annual.
As concerns, however, the heart of ‘competition’, the types of events have become 18 since they were introduced Green Event (awarded for the best event dedicated to environmental issues.) and Sustainable Event (awarded for the best event that has been able to minimize the environmental impact of the event) This integration was necessary because in recent years the field of eco-green has gradually assumed more importance even in the world events, which is increasingly demanded respect for the context within which to operate.
The categories Low Budget Event and High Budget Event will go instead to form, with the new Integrated Event category (an award given to the event who was able to be declined in at least three different types) the Special Event Type.
Salvatore Sagone, president of ADC Group and editor of the monthly e20 and e20express website, hopes that this year the events market trend will reverse the negative that characterizes it: “Like all other sectors of the communication also one of the events live a very difficult time. A stage that has lasted almost three years, and has put a strain on the strength of the sector. But like all crises, they are not eternal, and, in some ways can also be healthy. In the last year we have an intense event’s activity. Agencies and companies created events with smaller budgets, but in many cases, a higher creative rate. So we are curious about the characters that enliven the pages of the European Events Annual. As usual, it will be up to the jury, made up of companies and representatives of the most influential, and whose names we will know soon, evaluating projects that will liven up the competition.”
In a few days the names of the jury will be announced.
