EUROPE – CVENT: LONDON LEADS THE 2026 EUROPEAN MEETING DESTINATIONS RANKING
Cvent has unveiled its 2026 rankings of the top European destinations for meetings and events. Based on the volume of RFP requests and sourcing activity recorded through the global event, congress, and hospitality technology provider’s platforms, the rankings confirm London, Barcelona, and Madrid as the top three most requested cities by planners.
London retains its European leadership for the fourth consecutive year, followed by Barcelona and Madrid, which consolidate their second and third positions, respectively. Lisbon climbs to fourth place, while Paris reaches the fifth spot. Among the cities experiencing the most significant growth are Munich, which enters the ranking in ninth place, and Vienna, which gains three positions to enter the top ten.
In the ranking of European hotels for meetings and events, the Meliá Avenida América in Madrid claims the top spot. Completing the top five are the Hilton London Metropole, the W Barcelona, the EPIC SANA Marquês in Lisbon, and the Sheraton Lisboa Hotel & Spa. This ranking further highlights the pivotal role of cities like Madrid, London, Barcelona, and Lisbon in the European business events market.
Commenting on the results, Graham Pope, Vice President International at Cvent, emphasized that the destinations, hotels, and venues featured in the rankings stand out for their responsiveness, collaborative approach, and focus on the quality of the in-person experience. Pope also noted that in 2025, group sourcing activity through Cvent platforms globally exceeded 20 billion dollars, signaling a demand that continues to sustain the live events market.
