CZECH REPUBLIC – IN PRAGUE, CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION SHAPE EVENTS
In the heart of Europe, Prague is one of the most popular congress destinations in the world, combining the richness of its historical heritage with a constant focus on innovation and a consolidated offer for international conferences and events.
Alongside its more romantic soul—with cobbled streets, Gothic spires, and historic cafés once frequented by figures like Albert Einstein and Franz Kafka that define its Bohemian charm—the city shows its face as a destination consistently ranked among the top ten most in-demand globally for MICE: a capacity for 18,000 delegates and conference venues capable of hosting any type of event, from a scientific congress housed in a Brutalist-style building to an incentive organized in an elegant Art Deco location.
A Historic City with a Green Heart
The Czech capital is also one of the greenest cities in Europe. Considered the second European city for natural heritage, it represents a particularly successful balance between urban development and open spaces. 52% of the city’s area is covered by green spaces, while tree canopy reaches 28%—percentages that local authorities aim to increase in the coming years.
Sustainability is one of the key aspects allowing Prague to meet the demands of contemporary events: on one hand, supporting organizations’ growing focus on reducing carbon footprints; on the other, allowing visitors to enjoy an experience in the heart of the urban center without giving up contact with nature.
Where Ideas Are a Vocation
Prague also surprises with its capacity for innovation. Perhaps not everyone knows that inventions leaving a lasting mark on the daily lives of millions of people originate right here in the Czech Republic: from contact lenses to blood type classification, from ship propellers to sugar cubes, all the way to antiviral drugs for HIV treatment. The country is also responsible for coining the word “robot,” now used worldwide.
Today, Prague continues to excel in research and technology—particularly in fields ranging from artificial intelligence and robotics to biomedicine, low-carbon technologies, data technologies, and creative industries—providing a stimulating environment for international conferences where scientific expertise and research go hand in hand with top-level infrastructure.
Adding to all of this is the expertise and support of the Prague Convention Bureau, a local partner assisting events and conferences across all planning phases, from venue selection to coordination with local stakeholders.
