AUSTRIA – A top youth tournament embedded in a family festival

In cooperation with the Austrian Football Association ÖFB and the regional football federations, Coca-Cola has organized the Coca-Cola CUP, a national football competition for U12 teams, for eleven years now. In 2015 the event agency KESCH will be in charge of the event´s implementation, ensuring new enthusiasm and a fun atmosphere for thousands of visitors with their fresh ideas.

cocacolaThe best 20 U12 teams of all Austria were selected in nine federal tournaments, in order to compete against each other on June 20th and 21st at the nationwide grand finale in Vienna to win the Coca-Cola CUP 2015. Of course the main focus of the event was the sporting performance of the young players, although the activities surrounding the event offered much diversion off the football field for the participants and their fans. At these nine tournaments, KESCH provided a professional design of the locations and a smooth operation of the tournaments and their side events.

In the Coca-Cola Get Active Area the young talents had the chance to prove their skills in a technique course. The Micro Soccer Area offered the players a possibility to play one-on-one against their friends or even parents. For many participants, it was a highlight to imitate their football idols wearing wigs at the photo wall and getting a picture of it to take home. The ball-juggling competition required skilfulness. Who keeps the ball up the longest – girls, boys or even mom and dad?

cocacola2The event experts created a professional environment: the overall coordination comprised location management, logistics and gastronomy coordination, but also on-the- spot assistance to the players. Regarding the design of the locations, banners, beach flags, stadium newsletters and many more details gave the youngsters and their fans proof of the fact that they were witnessing a very special tournament, where not only outstanding athletic achievements but also great organization were extremely important.

Approximately 4,500 visitors kept their fingers crossed for their teams at the regional tournaments. About 2,500 fans accompanied their teams to the nationwide finale, supporting the young talents audibly and contributing to a great atmosphere. Also Coca-Cola CUP Ambassador David Alaba was present at the tournament´s finale in Vienna keeping a close eye on his successors’ skills.
