Bea World Experience Festival 2020: and the winner is… Maserati MMXX World Premiere MC20 by Feelrouge Worldwide Shows!

The prestigious Bea World Grand Prix 2020 goes to a Hybrid Brand Experience Event from Italy. The perfect ending for an all-digital edition of the 4-day Festival, which assembled the most influential community of event professionals from across the world.

The ‘Oscars’ of events have finally been unveiled. Last Wednesday night, Bea World Experience Festival celebrated its 15th edition, awarding the best international events of the year. A parade of excellence sparkled on the Festival’s digital stage: a total of 188 events submitted from the 23 countries taking part in the competition, and over 600 delegates attending the ceremony. The entire Festival, in its four days, registered more than 3,500 visits.

The global contest, reserved for events and live communication professionals, was once again an exceptional opportunity to gain qualified visibility at an international level. After two full days of live presentations and voting, and very intense debate, the Jury Panel – led by Stephanie Dubois, Global Event Manager at SAP – was able to proclaim the winners for 2020.

The Bea World Grand Prix 2020 went to Maserati MMXX World Premiere MC20, an event by Feelrouge Worldwide Shows for Maserati. The eventwas also a winner in the “Digital/Hybrid Brand Experience” category.

The event was threefold: a live show, a virtual experience, and a real journey into Maserati’s identity involving key Modena locations. The concept was a unique brand experience that marked the start of a new Maserati Era, and an actual first for the automotive sector. On Wednesday, September 9th, the show became both truly live, with almost 500 guests at the Modena Circuit, and virtual, accompanied remotely by two simultaneous mirror events in New York and Tokyo. The show, which conveyed Maserati’s engaging and exciting heritage, was designed to inspire, avoiding conventional celebration and product launch formats. It was a full immersion in the brand’s soul, celebrating it and revealing its wholly renewed identity. The fast-paced show plunged the spectator in a flow of different segments, including live performances, anamorphic images, and augmented reality, projected on a monumental screen covering a 630 sqm area. The almost cinematic sequence guided guests, both physically present at the circuit and attending via live streaming, towards a new, contemporary vision of Maserati, preparing the way for the culminating moment: the World Première of the new MC20.

“The Jury decided to award this project with the Grand Prix because of its excellence in all its components”, motivated Jury President Stephanie Dubois.

‘Mirror house above the river’, producedby Skudras metropole (Latvia) for Paulig Coffee Latvia, came insecond place, while the bronze went to ‘The 2019 Theatre Olympics in Russia’, by The Directorate of the Saint Petersburg International Cultural Forum (Russia). Feelrouge Worldwide Shows alsowonthetitle of Best Bea World Event Agency.

All Jury members were chosen among corporate event and marketing managers from a representative range of sectors and countries committed to abide by a Code of Ethics. The result was a transparent, live and face-to face competition that avoided conflicts between Jury members and candidates, by preventing jurors from corporations to vote for a project from their own company and sector.

The ceremony, in an all-digital format and inspired by the theme Simplicity is the new gold, was hosted by Sandy Nijhuis and Kjell Lutz of Masters in Moderation.

“When the pandemic began, we were worried and concerned about whether to organise Bea World or not this year. From what has happened, in terms of forced innovation, I decided that it was essential to do so”, said Salvatore Sagone, president of ADC Group and Bea World Experience Festival. “From the great response we had, in terms of entries from so many countries, I think it was the right decision. This year’s edition certainly sends a strong message to the market, one of resilience and desire to restart as soon as possible. Event professionals should therefore be proud of their work, which has a great future in spite of the current situation”.

The 15th Edition of Bea World Festival will be an all-digital edition with the clear objective of identifying and providing the market with the necessary strategies to interpret the ongoing evolution towards digitisation and inform on the actions taken to provide creative solutions.

It will offer all participants the opportunity to see the world’s best-in-class events, to network with peers and industry leaders, and to learn business strategies and new trends through inspiring keynotes and technical workshops.

“Although there are fewer entries than in the past years, it is not as bad as one could have expected when considering the current situation. The pandemic has certainly heavily penalised the live industry, but we nonetheless report a high participation in the award, which has firmly established itself as an international benchmark for the entire sector – says Salvatore Sagone, founder of Bea World Experience Festival and president of ADC Group. – Health requirements have forced us to deliver this edition in a totally digital format, which we are sure will nonetheless meet the interest of all those who want to find inspiration from the finalist projects and the scheduled content.”

On a European Level, entries from Germany, Italy, and the Czech Republic have increased, while Latvia, Lithuania, and Qatar confirm numbers similar to those of last year. At the same time, some extra-European countries are competing for the renowned Elephant Awards, including Brazil, Qatar and the USA. Portugal, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy are the countries with more entries in this 15th year of the international event award.

The results confirm how strong the Bea World brand is. Integrity and transparency have been key traits of our competition since its very first edition, and have acknowledged its success and growth over the years. It is indeed a unique business and networking platform that connects supply and demand. We expect a large number of event professionals from all over the world, which I am sure will enjoy the Festival more than ever. There will be no shortage of surprises within this digital format.” adds Sagone.

EDP: official Sponsor of Bea World 2020 – Above all, be creative!

Take a look at the chat between Salvatore Sagone, President of ADC Group and Paulo Campos Costa, Global Brand, Marketing and Communication Director at EDP.

Once again EDP is supporting the event market by being official sponsor of Bea World Festival.

“Above all, be creative!” This is Paulo Campos Costa’s tip for the event industry, as Global Brand, Marketing and Communication Director at EDP, the main energy company in Portugal and official sponsor of the Bea World Festival. Especially in these difficult times.

EDP is a multinational, vertically integrated utility company. With more than 40 years of history, the company has been building a relevant presence in the world energy scene and in the gas commercialization activity. Present in 19 countries from 4 continents, EDP works today with more than 11.700 employees. EDP is also the fourth largest wind energy production company in the world in which around 70% of our energy is produced from renewable resources, providing almost 11 million customers.

EDP is considered the most valuable brand in Portugal in 2020.

An interview to Stephanie Dubois, Bea World Jury President

Stephanie Dubois, Event Director at SAP, will chair the Corporate Jury of the Best Event Awards 2020.  Stephanie is in charge of SAPPHIRE NOW, the company’s flagship event and a reference in the event industry. She has been involved in various aspects of event planning over the past 10 years, with a particular focus on leading with content strategy, facilitating customer networking, and always setting the highest quality standards in terms of customer experience.

We have reached her and asked her a few questions about Bea World Festival and some tips for participants to impress the Jury.

– What are the most valuable takeaways you have gained by being a Bea World jury member for the past few years?
Being a jury member for the Bea World awards has been an amazing experience of learning, expanding my horizons, and meeting fabulous professionals. I have been blown away by many of the entries, and I often find myself, a year later, still using some of the ideas I got to see as examples of how to be creative, how to overcome challenges, and how to create unforgettable experiences.

– In your opinion, what is the added value of taking part in the Best Event Awards for event agencies?
Entering your event into such a prestigious competition will not only give your agency tremendous visibility and credibility, but it will also provide your team with an immense sense of achievement and pride. There is no better way to measure the value of your work than to see it compared to other ‘best in class’ events. Last but not least, there is nothing more satisfying than to receive the acknowledgment and validation of your peers, and some of the most respected professionals in the industry!

– What advice would you give to agencies competing for the Bea World Festival?
Be honest, be real, and showcase your team’s achievements like your life depends on it. Do not be afraid to use all your creativity to sell your work and blow the jury away. Creating events, today more than ever, is hard work. Your team deserves the celebration!

The Bea World Top 30 Event Agencies

On the threshold of its 15th edition, the Best Event Awards is rightly identified as the main international industry recognition, the best chance for event agencies to shine on the world’s stage of events and live communication.

Once again, we have drawn up a Bea World Hall of Fame, composed by the most awarded event agencies since the awards became global, in 2017. The ranking rewards agencies for their creativity, innovative approachstrategic thinking and impact, but it recognises their loyalty over the years as well. The brand new ranking is based on the total sum of points obtained for each prize won in the last three years and shows only the agencies still in activity.

Regarding all time ranking, that comprises all the prizes won since the first Best Event Awards in 2006, Filmmaster Events from Italy is confirmed as the most awarded event agency, never missing a single appointment with the Best Event Awards, totalling a staggering 59 awards over 14 years, among which three Grand Prix (2006, 2007 & 2017), one Iconic Event Award (2017) and the title of Best Bea World Event Agency (2017).

No changes compared to last year for the second and third places, occupied respectively, by Insglück Gesellschaft für Markeninszenierung from Germany and Magic Garden from France. Fourth place for VOK DAMS worldwide from Germany, rising one place, and fifth for  Desafio Global from Portugal.

After extensive consultation with our judges, our partners, and participants of previous editions, we have decided that Bea World Festival will indeed take place in 2020!

We want to publicly thank the countless people who in recent months have provided us all with great friendship, encouragement, and moral support. It is also thanks to your trust and recognition of our results that we have refused to give up!Above all, by organising the fifteenth edition of Bea World, we want to send a strong and positive message, one of continuity for our event industry, which has been severely tested in recent times.

It is with such resilience and hopes that we will deliver the 2020 Golden Elephants! Obviously, we have to deal with the ongoing health emergency, so we here announce that this year the entire Festival will be celebrated online. But, don’t worry. Regardless of the circumstances, we are absolutely sure that the winners will be suitably rewarded and honoured!

Registration, for all events that took place between 1st September 2019 and 30th October 2020, will open on 6th July.

Of course, this year we’ll also include events that have had to adapt due to the Covid-19 restrictions. We have lots of news in store for them!As a matter of fact, for the first time ever, all online events will be eligible to participate in the Bea Award this year!

We have introduced some changes to the Awards, as you will soon discover from the ‘Call for Entries’ (which will be online next week). To help you better approach aspects that the judges will want to evaluate, we have modified our registration platform, simplifying the various modules, reducing the categories, and widening the choice of the digital world. These changes will make your registration to Bea Award easier than ever. But don’t relax just yet… winning won’t be an easy task!

We are also working on the Festival’s content.

We have obviously taken into account your feedback from last year, and we are creating a programme of sessions that will address areas of our industry that you have said that you want to know more about! We will continue to listen to your advice and directly involve you.

So… stay tuned! We greatly appreciate your constant interest and look forward to speaking with many of you during this year’s registration process!

See you soon,

Salvatore Sagone (president of ADC Group) and the Bea World Team

Coronavirus: a message from Bea World

We are aware that the world of events is going through a very difficult time due to the health emergency caused by the current outbreak of coronavirus. However, we are equally convinced that the responsiveness of the entire event industry, and the innovation and flexibility that have always distinguished it, will be the best allies to overcome this delicate moment.

COVID-19 is undoubtedly an unprecedented global challenge. We are at the beginning of a new phase that will obviously require a total rethink, not only in the way of doing events, but also of the business and its intrinsic relationships. Procedures are already in place to make events safer in terms of sanitation, and other solutions are being studied to bring innovation to the live communication market.

The event industry supports an important part of the world economy, in terms of employment and also with regards to the GDP of individual countries. So let’s stand united and interact with the competent authorities in order to find solutions that do have a decisive impact not only on our sector, but also on all the sociocultural activities of our communities as a whole.

The Bea World team feels close to all of the world’s event agencies. Let’s stay strong. We are doing it and, with great passion and hope, we are working to ensure that the 15th edition of Bea World Festival is to be the most memorable to date!
