Palacongressi di Rimini, the force of the seduction
With an appealing and captivating communications campaign, ‘Let yourself be charmed #Palastorytelling’, the location aims to promote its venue and local area within the congress sector. In 2015, the Convention Bureau organised 141 events of varying types and scopes: from business conventions to medical-scientific symposiums, from religious gatherings to association meetings, not to mention a wide range of cultural and sporting events.
Since making its debut in 2011, the Palacongressi di Rimini has made the city a key player on the congress and events market, both on the domestic and international scene. The location is managed by the Convention Bureau della Riviera di Rimini (Event & Conference Business Unit of Rimini Fiera), which, in addition to the activities related to the venue’s spaces, provides services that take the client through all the organising stages of the event.
The Convention Bureau is a single and unique partner, offering the full package, customised and free of charge: from the concept to strategic planning, from operational management to post-congress assistance.
The spaces at the Palacongressi are highly versatile and structured for hosting complex events, thanks to three independent entrances, a large number of rooms, high ceilings for suspension points and particular scenographies, and a shell-structure which naturally amplifies acoustics during shows and classical music concerts. 39 rooms, all equipped with avant-garde technology and a high-speed, fibre optic Internet connection, with varying seating capacities, from 4,700 in Sala della Piazza to 20 in the breakout rooms, accommodate an overall, impressive figure of 9,000 people.
As a newly designed location, the Palacongressi has made its green philosophy a key strength, achieving great energy savings and high environmental quality standards. It is also proud of being the first ever Wellness Congress Location, a place where participants can take time out during a busy working day to care of themselves in an innovative way.
As of 2015, the venue is a promoter of the ‘Food for Good’ initiative founded by Federcongressi&eventi, the Food Bank and Equoevento, a non-profit organisation. By endorsing this worthy cause, event organisers can recover surplus food and donate it to charity, promoting solidarity and the sharing of resources.
The location also offers an ad-hoc service for accommodation, thanks to its partnership with Aia Palas, a consortium of hotels selected exclusively for events organised in the venue. Moreover, the Palacongressi has a tried and trusted pool of partners for staffing, set up, design, interpreting and translation services, to ensure the best outcome. Catering services are managed exclusively by Summertrade (part of Rimini Fiera group), who are more than capable of meeting the needs of every client.
After hosting popular events such as The World Magic Championships, You Hair & Beauty Show, the Coca-Cola HBC Italia Convention and the ITF Forum, the agenda for the upcoming months is already intense with over 100 meetings and events scheduled.
To effectively communicate what the Palacongressi di Rimini has to offer, to expand its target and promote the city as a congress destination, a new online campaign entitled ‘Let yourself be charmed #Palastorytelling’ was launched in February. It centres around a 4 minute video (check it out on http://www.riminipalacongressi.it and on YouTube), produced in partnership with ‘Laboratorio Creativo Gerebros’ from Bologna. Local companies and enterprises collaborated on the realisation of the video, sharing the view that the claim ‘Let yourself be charmed’, is a message that aptly conveys the ‘Riminimood’: a culture of hospitality, creativity and a warm welcome that make Rimini recognisable and recognised the world over.
