SPAIN – Opening of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Museum by Acciona Producciones y Diseño
Russian President Vladimir Putin opened the centre dedicated to the former president, which features museographic innovations such as a 9 metres curved screen, an immersive audiovisual theatre, interactive resources and reconstructions of historical scenes.
On November 25th, Vladimir Putin, the president of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian prime minister, and Boris Yeltsin’s widow, Naina Yeltsina, opened the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Centre, dedicated to Boris Yeltsin as the first president of the Russian Federation, the technical development and implementation of which were entrusted to Acciona Producciones y Diseño by the prime contractor, RAA.
The museum houses a collection of original objects and documents that belonged to Boris Yeltsin, representative artifacts from the time he was in power and reconstructions of important historical scenes during that period. These spaces are enhanced by numerous audiovisual and interactive productions which store historical archives and original interviews with some of the most important political figures of that period, including international statesmen such as Bill Clinton and Tony Blair.
Acciona Producciones y Diseño was responsible for the technical development and implementation of the permanent exhibition space of the museum, which occupies a total area of 2,300 square metres over two floors. Among the technological innovations developed by the agency for the museum is the “Atrium”, where a 9 metre long curved LED screen shows some of the key moments in the political and personal life of Boris Yeltsin.
