PORTUGAL – Brazil World Cup ceremonies with Portuguese signature
Daphné Cornez and Impossible Factory-Worldwide Entertainment Productions were the ones in charge of the creation and artistic production of World Cup Football 2014’s opening and closing ceremonies, that took place on 12th June and 13th July.
The Portuguese company Impossible Factory-Worldwide Entertainment Productions is the responsible for the creation and artistic production of World Cup Football 2014‘s opening and closing ceremonies.
The first event has taken place in Itaquerão, São Paulo, on 12th June, and the closing one has been in Maracanã, Rio de Janeiro, on 13th July.
“The World Cup opening show was a tribute to Brazil and its treasures: nature, people and football. Its main element was a led ball and it featured acrobatic and trampoline gymnasts and capoeira performers, in a total of 600 dancers, who for 25 minutes exalted the magic of football”, said Daphné Cornez, artistic director and creative writer for Impossible Factory.
Impossible Factory is a Portuguese company specialized in mega artistic productions and public ceremonies, created by the same founders of Tavolanostra Eventos Globais, João Garrido da Costa and António Oliveira Santos, and Fabrice Bollen. The company was established in 2011.
Daphné Cornez was the artistic director of events such as the 7 Natural Wonders of Portugal official ceremony, a co-production between Tavolanostra and the Franco Dragone Entertainment Group, the “China – Belgium 40th Anniversary of Diplomatic Ties“, held in Beijing in 2011. Recently, she has been invited to assume the artistic direction of the closing ceremony of Mons European Capital of Culture 2015.
Impossible Factory-Worldwide Entertainment Productions initially joined the Brazil World Cup project in association with the Franco Dragone Entertainment Group, having meantime been invited by the executive official producer, Brazilian Team Spirit, to lead the creation and artistic production of the ceremonies.
