ITALY – Vogue Fashion’s Night Out in Florence in September
Today, a press conference has been held by Vogue Italia Editor Franca Sozzani and Mayor Matteo Renzi, to present the comeback of Vogue Fashion’s Night Out in Florence on 12th September.
After the success of the debut in 2012, Florence confirms again its will to be one of the centers of Made in Italy, as it participates to the great night of fashion by Vogue for the second time.
Matteo Renzi, Mayor of Florence, said: “We are happy that Vogue Fashion’s Night Out is back in town. Last year, thousands of Florentine citizens and of tourists have attended the initiative, that enlivened the city center of Florence with a unique event, which mixed fashion and charity. We are sure that next September the city will react with enthusiasm and curiosity again”.
“We are particularly happy to bring back Vogue Fashion’s Night Out in Florence, as the city reacted with enthusiasm to the night last year” added Vogue Italia Editor Franca Sozzani. “We are proud to keep contributing to support the fashion market, which represents one of the most important economic field, especially for our Country. As it reached its fifth edition, the event is now a steady meeting for the cities, as it involves thousands of people. Besides, Vogue Fashion’s Night Out is also a chance to support concrete projects in favor of the cities and of the communities who host us”.
As for every other edition, the 2013 VFNO will be focused on charitable activities. In 2012, the proceeds of the sale of many limited edition products have been given to support the people hit by earthquake in Emilia; therefore, it helped the reconstruction of the school buildings in the Municipality of Finale Emilia, the creation of the pediatric ward in the Carpi Hospital, and the creation of a new section of the nursery school “Sergio Neri”, together with the project of the junior high school F. Montanari “Scuola aperta per ricominciare” of the Municipality of Mirandola. 2013 will be focused on charity activities, with a project dedicated to education.
A unique event, that will involve the whole city, and that will be held in partnership with Visa; Visa is a main partner that, together with Vogue Italia, decided to promote and support the emerging designers for this occasion. Among the event supporters, there are Campari – official drink VFNO since the first edition – that will give its famous drink during the opening cocktail of the night at Palazzo Vecchio and in some selected points of sale, and Lavazza, that for the occasion will give some limited edition cans of its coffee, designed by 6 artists, in Piazza Repubblica; the proceeds will be given to Fashion4Development.
The countdown for the night of 12th September has just started.
