IRELAND – AIPCO announce their inaugural Conference for March 2013
The Association of Irish Professional Conference Organisers (AIPCO) announced that the inaugural AIPCO Business Tourism Conference will take place in the Clyde Hotel, Dublin on March 7th, 2013.
The conference will focus on the partnership opportunities between PCOs and suppliers within and outside Ireland through the theme ‘Collaboration Wins Business’, with the key aim of winning business for Ireland and increasing revenue streams across the sector. Delegates from regional convention bureaux, the hotel industry, venues, restaurants and service areas within the business tourism industry will all be in attendance.
‘In a country the size of Ireland, relationships and collaboration is key’ said Jean Evans (image), Chair of AIPCO ‘We have to constantly evolve our ideas on not only how we can compete on the international stage, but also how we work together to achieve our aims. The relationships with suppliers are as important as those with your clients; one does not work with the other.’
The one-day programme will include one-on-one mentoring opportunities with invited experts, plenary sessions with Irish and international speakers, followed by interactive workshops and ending with a networking dinner. Many high-profile speakers have been confirmed for the conference, with several also involved in the mentoring meetings.
‘It’s a real opportunity for our guests to connect with the leading figures within the Irish business tourism industry and build their network of contacts‘ said Susan Nolan, Vice-Chair of AIPCO ‘It’s a vital part of any business strategy to work with the best, and work well. Our guests will not only glean new knowledge of future trends and current challenges, they’ll be able to meet the people providing the solutions.’
Made up of eight of the leading Irish PCOs, AIPCO is the premier body for professional conference organisers on the island of Ireland. A non-profit organisation, it is dedicated to raising the profile and standards of the meetings industry in Ireland. The AIPCO Business Tourism Conference 2013 is the first of its type and is hoped to become a vital part of the Irish business tourism calendar over the coming years.
