ITALY – Camparisoda celebrates its 80 years with the exhibition ‘Camparisoda: 80 anni e non sentirli’

The iconic Italian brand Camparisoda is celebrating its 80th anniversary by opening the exhibition ‘Camparisoda 80 anni e non sentirli: da Fortunato Depero a Franz Marangolo, da Guido Crepax a Franco Scepi‘. In fact, from 11th May to 21st December Galleria Campari will offer an artistic journey through the success of the first pre-mix in history.

The initiative will display some graphic artwork from the Campari Archive, selected by Marina Mojana, Artistic Director of Galleria Campari, who curated the whole project, with the collaboration of Franco Scepi. The aim of the initiative is to take the visitors through the history of the famous iconic bottle, designed by Fortunato Depero in 1928 and then realised by Vetreria Bordoni in 1932 .

Camparisoda wants to underline the strong link with art, communication and continuous
evolution of languages and this is represented with the video made by Cogitanz, a lab composed by young interaction designers, that ‘animated’ 16 chine in black and white by Fortunato Depero from 1928-1931, where the famous cone-shaped bottle is already visible. Among the other artworks displayed, 14 drawings by George Guillermaz and  Giuseppe Cappadonia, 24 paintings by Franz Marangolo and Guido Crepax (1933-2003), and 10 original pieces by artist and director Franco
Scepi
, taken from some Camparisoda adverts filmed in the 80’s.

Paolo Cavallo, Director of Galleria Campari, said: “This new exhibition represents a milestone for Galleria Campari. We wanted to celebrate a successful product through the eyes of artists that with their creative artworks have helped it becoming unique”.

The exhibition was made possible also thanks to the collaboration of Franco
Scepi
(in the image above, with Marina Mojana), an Italian artist that in its carreer has experimented with all types of media and languages, from theatre to cinema, from advertising to painting. Moving in Andy Warhol’s circle, he called his work Over Ad’Art and in 1987 was awarded the Oscar for Advertising in New York.
