Bea Italy 2011 – The jury awarded the power of ideas.

his eighth edition of the Italian Best Event Awards has closed but will be remembered as the year of records, with 131 events competing. The ceremony was presented by the talented presenter Paola Maugeri, already ‘tested’ at the European Best Event Awards.


Promoconvention Gruppo Input_Bea Italia_11.jpgThis year’s Golden Elephant has been won by a project which sits between event and sponsorship: Lavazza – The Official Coffee of Wimbledon, created and organized by Promoconvention – Input Group for Lavazza. Registered in the typology Public Event, the event made the Italian company’s presence alive and vibrant at the famous tennis tournament through a series of coherent, integrated and original initiatives full of irony: dozens of points of sale and three cafés themed with tennis, sampling and engagement for the fans queuing to buy tickets, contests to pass the time, video installations, advertising campaign, social network and mobile phone applications. Everything managed through the typically Italian levers of taste, quality and empathy.

Alphaomega_Bea Italia_72.jpgThe second place of the Bea Italy 2011 went to a Cultural Event of strong visual, emotional and dramatic impact: Coliseum On Fire by the agency Alphaomega for Roma Capitale. The Coliseum in flames, with the aim of bring the world’s attention to the immense historical and cultural heritage of the Eternal City. Three evenings with spectacular installations which continued through the night and were witnessed by over 500.000 people.

Lets Go.jpgThe third event on the podium was a Low Budget project with great spirit: Sony Ericsson 100& Android, by Let’s Go Events for the telecommunication company. The event transformed one of the smallest towns in Italy, Villa Biscossi (Pavia), into the “Best Connected Town” thanks to the 100% use of Android smartphones. Following a ‘glocal’ goal, the functionality of an ‘easy to use’ technology was demonstrated to all the inhabitants, who received for free a Sony Ericson Xperia to connect and cancel distances.
