UK – Motivcom events division motors ahead 40%
The events and communications business of Motivcom – which includes P&MM Events & Communications, AYMTM and Zibrant – saw gross profits rise 40 per cent from £11m in 2009 to £15.4m for the year ending 31 December 2010, while headline operating profit for the division increased 70 per cent from £1.7m to £2.9m for the same period.
Overall Motivcom Group had a strong year with a 22 per cent increase in gross profit, from £22.7m in 2009 to £27.7m in 2010 and a 24 per cent increase in headline operating profit from £3.8m in 2009 to £4.76m in 2010.
Nigel Cooper, executive director of events & communications at Motivcom, said: “2010 has been an excellent year for the events and communications division with record turnover, income and profit. We have seen many clients returning to more robust and substantial sales and marketing activity and events continue to be an integral element of success in this arena.”
Cooper added that the group would be expanding its live communication capabilities and will be “investing modestly” in developing an international congress management division to broaden its range of services.
