Best Event Awards: Online Voting begins for 142 events

The sixth edition of the Best Event Awards has surpassed expectations. Despite the difficult economic climate 142 events in total have been entered into the competition.
The EuBEAs attracted 68 entries from countries such as Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden and Belgium. The BEA Italy awards attracted 74 domestic entries.

During the online voting period, the judges consider the creative idea, the technological innovation and the quality of each event compared against its budget.

The jurors also take into consideration how the event fits with the company’s communication objective, the brand values and the media mix (use of media and PR).

The scores submitted online by each judge will result in the final shortlist of entries. These will then be judged when the jurors come together face-to-face on 1 October in Milan at the Palzzo Giureconsulti to decide on the winners.

ADC Chairman Salvatore Sagone says he is satisfied with the number of entries into this Tessmar_Christoph.JPGyear’s awards. “In an economic downturn, 142 entries is a fantastic achievement. It confirms that the awards have an excellent reputation across Europe and that agencies want to be a part of the BEAs. We have experienced a 30% drop in entries for 2009 but let us not forget that the events that qualify for this year’s awards would have taken place during the worst point of this economic crisis – from July 2008 to June 2009. I believe that as the economy begins to improve, just as the experts are predicting, the 2010 BEAs will continue to develop further.”
