ADC and the City of Turin come together to investigate the Events Market in Italy and Europe

On the wave of the success of previous editions, the 2007 round witnesses the addition of a chapter dedicated to the “Events Market in Europe”.  In addition to the panel of approximately 300 companies that invest in communications, the main players of the European sector will also be involved.  They will be asked to express themselves regarding their relationship with events in general, on their interactions with the agencies that plan and create events, with service providers, and with locations.
The merit of this research is that it has provided, for the first time on the communications panorama, a specific survey regarding this topic.
This year’s sponsor of the investigation is the City of Turin because, after the success of the Olympics, it has continued a policy of events attraction and organization that, accompanied by a careful promotional strategy, has allowed for the development of a new vocation for the city.
Thanks to the organization of the XX Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games 2006, Turin has acquired great skills, professionalism, and structures that are meant to be immediately valorised in hosting subsequent events, in addition to the numerous concerts and dates that are by now consolidated in the city, such as Cioccolatò (the annual fair dedicated to chocolate), The Salon of Taste, Mother Earth (the world meeting of the food communities), and the first edition of the Turin Winter Park that is planned for 2008 (the meeting for those passionate about winter fitness).
As a confirmation of the City’s dedication in this direction, Turin has been assigned numerous dates that will be held in the coming years, among which the Turin 2008 World Design Capital and the World Conference of Architects in 2008, the Euroscience Open Forum in 2010, and the Celebration of 150 Years of the Unity of Italy in 2011.
Further recognition comes from the granting of the prize for “Best Public Body” at the EuBEA 2006 and by the awarding of prizes in various categories for the numerous events held in Turin throughout the year.
Thanks to avant-garde venues and expositional spaces, the enriched know-how and the presence of dedicated structures such as the Turin Convention Bureau and the TOP – Turin Olympic Park, the body that manages and promotes the material heritage of the Games, Turin has marked itself on the international scene as an ideal location for organizing events.
